The town of Sesto Calende occupies an interesting geographical position; it marks the point where the River Ticino flows north and opens out into Lake Maggiore.
This is also one of the points where Lombardy meets the neighbouring region of Piedmont to the west, the two regions connected via a road bridge. |

To the north and east of Sesto Calende lie three further bodies of water: Lake Comabbio, Lake Monate and Lake Varese. Around the town you'll find a number of restaurants, bars and shops, either located by the river or in the attractive town centre where there's also a church.
