The Basilica di Santa Rita da Cascia is one of the most unique churches in Italy. Combining both Modern and Byzantine Revival architectural styles, construction of the church finished in 1947 and it was awarded minor basilica status in 1955 by Pope Pius XII.
Situated in the small hill town of Cascia in the region of Umbria, its most famous for its dazzling display of colourful interior frescoes. |
