The wine region of Monferrato covers both the Province of Alessandria and the Province of Asti, in the northern Italian region of Piedmont.

​Since 2014, it's been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the full heading of Vineyard Landscape of Piedmont: Langhe-Roero and Monferrato. 
Among the most famous locations within the region are the towns of Nizza Monferrato, Ozzano Monferrato, Ponzano Monferrato, Rosignano Monferrato and Treville. The recommended accommodation for the region is the Hotel Doc in Nizza.
