The Tindari Sanctuary, also known as the Sanctuary of the Black Madonna of Tindari, is a religious complex located on the northeastern coast of Sicily, Italy. It is perched on a hilltop overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea and the stunning Marinello Bay. The sanctuary is a significant religious and cultural landmark, attracting both pilgrims and tourists to its beautiful setting and religious importance.

The Tindari Sanctuary is a stunning architectural ensemble that includes the Basilica of Our Lady of Tindari, along with various other religious buildings and structures.

The sanctuary is dedicated to the venerated Black Madonna, which is a statue of the Virgin Mary holding the child Jesus, known for its dark skin color. The Black Madonna is a revered symbol of the Mother of God in the Christian tradition.

The Basilica itself is an impressive structure, showcasing a mix of architectural styles, including Romanesque, Byzantine, and Norman. Inside the basilica, visitors can admire beautiful frescoes, religious artifacts, and the venerated statue of the Black Madonna.
History
The history of the Tindari Sanctuary dates back to the early Christian era.
