Palmaria

The tiny island of Palmaria is situated within the Province of La Spezia and lies opposite the seaside town of Portovenere.
Since 1997 it's been a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the full heading of Portovenere, Cinque Terre, and the Islands (Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto). It measures a total area of just 1.6 square kilometres and has a population of around 56 residents. |
