By far the most convenient option for visiting Venice and its Lagoon area is Venice Marco Polo Airport.
Situated twelve kilometres to the north of Venice, it takes just twenty minutes to reach the city centre by bus but some people prefer to take the more evocative water bus or vaporetto which takes an hour or so longer. |

Serving such a blue-chip destination as Venice there are dozens of flight companies offering services, among which are British Airways, Air France and Delta. The latter of those provide seasonal flights to and from the American cities of New York and Atlanta while the large majority of connects are to other cities in Europe.
