The beach resort of Biodola and is situated within the Comune of Portoferraio, on the island of Elba in the Tuscan Archipelago and just a short distance from the island's capital: Portoferraio.
With its combination of shallow waters and powdery golden sand, Biodola paints pretty pictures with a breathtaking array of colours; as much a photographer's as a holidaymaker's dream. |
The resort can be reached by road (around 12 minutes from Portoferraio) with car parks available and also a bus stop next to the beach. It's a firm fixture on my list of Must See Elba sights and one of the prettiest beach resorts in Italy.

How to Get to Biodola
By Rail: Biodola does not have its own train station, as it is located on Elba Island. The nearest mainland station is in Piombino Marittima, directly adjacent to the ferry terminal in Piombino. This station is served by Trenitalia regional trains, with connections from Florence, Pisa, and Rome. From the station, it is a short walk to the ferry terminal, where car and passenger ferries depart for Portoferraio. Once on Elba, Biodola is around 7 kilometres west of Portoferraio and can be reached by taxi or private vehicle.
