Situated around 50 kilometres from the centre of Milan, the Milan Malpensa Airport is Lombardy's busiest and most important.
One of three airports that carry the word "Milan" in their name, Malpensa is the one that deals with the greatest number of passengers with around 29 million passing through its two terminals every year. |

It's located to the northwest of Milan itself, close to the towns of Busto Arsizio and Legnano. This is the perfect destination to fly to if you're planning to visit Lake Maggiore which is just a 25 minute drive away, or any of the other lakes of Lombardy including Lake Como.
