Castello di Miramare, also known as Miramare Castle, is a splendid and historic castle located on the Gulf of Trieste, near the city of Trieste in northeastern Italy. The castle was commissioned by Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian of Austria and his wife, Charlotte of Belgium, in the mid-19th century. It was designed by the architect Carl Junker in a Neo-Gothic style, and construction began in 1856.

The castle's location on a rocky promontory overlooking the Adriatic Sea was chosen for its breathtaking views and serene setting. Tragically, Archduke Maximilian became Emperor of Mexico but was later executed in 1867, just a few years after the castle's completion.

Today, Castello di Miramare is an iconic attraction, offering visitors a glimpse into the life of European royalty and showcasing magnificent architecture and lush gardens.
