​The lake island of Isola Maggiore is situated on Lake Trasimeno in the Province of Perugia. Covering a total area of 24 hectares, it rises to a maximum elevation of 309 metres above sea level.

Other places of interest in and around the lake are the island of Isola Polvese and the lakeside towns of Tuoro sul Trasimeno, Passignano sul Trasimeno, Castiglione del Lago and Magione.
