​Monte Bianco lies between the borders of France and Italy in the North West of Valle d'Aosta. This imposing peak is the tallest of the Alps standing at 4,808 metres above sea level.

​On the Italian side of the border the closest major town to Mont Blanc (Monte Bianco in Italian) is the ski resort of Courmayeur which is also popular among hikers.

Monte Bianco, also known as Mont Blanc in French, is the highest mountain in the Alps and Western Europe, towering over the Valle d'Aosta region of northern Italy. It is a majestic peak that stands at an impressive 4,809 meters (15,778 feet) above sea level. Monte Bianco has a long history of exploration and mountaineering. The first recorded ascent of the mountain was in 1786 by Jacques Balmat and Michel-Gabriel Paccard, both of whom were from Chamonix.
