Town centre highlights
One of the main sights in the town is called La Rocca, a medieval fortress that's now a museum. You can access the fortress via a set of narrow steps through the residential area of the town. Once at the top you can enjoy some of the best views out across the lake.
The very centre of Passignano is Piazza Garibaldi; an attractive square fringed by ceramic shops and restaurants. It's just a short walk from here to the lake shore where there's an attractive, tree-lined promenade.

Ferry to the islands of Lake Trasimeno
During the summer you can take a ferry out to the middle of the lake and to its islands. There are three islands in total with the most interesting two being Isola Maggiore and Isola Polvese. You can also organise private boat rentals close to the ferry pier.
Other places of interest around the lake include the town of Castiglione del Lago which takes just over 15 minutes to reach by car, a distance of 19 kilometres. Slightly closer to Passignano are the smaller towns of San Feliciano to the south and Tuoro sul Trasimeno to the west whose town centre is a little way inland but with a beach on the lake shore.
