The seaside town of Caorle is situated around 60 kilometres north-east of Venice, close to the border with Friuli Venezia Giulia.
During the summer, it's one of the most popular resorts in the whole Veneto region, attracting visitors with its renowned sandy beaches and colourful town centre. The most famous buildings in the town centre are the 11th century Caorle Cathedral and its distinctive Bell Tower, unusual with its cylindrical shape and very much the iconic image of the town. |

The centro storico of Caorle
Even during the busy summer months, Caorle has a nice, open feel to it with wide walkways and its attractive promenade. Just a few steps from the Cathedral and the centro storico, the promenade leads down to another religious building: the Madonna dell'Angelo, flanked by its own bell tower of a more regular shape.
Directly in front of the Madonna dell'Angelo is the first huge expanse of sand which makes up Levante Beach, while just a 10 minute walk in the opposite direction brings you to Ponente Beach. Each of the two main beaches is well-served by restaurants and private beach areas where you can hire sun beds and parasols.

By the sea
The main area of shops lies back in the town centre where an attractive waterside area sweeps up and around to a marina with private yachts. The waterway marks the end of the River Livenza which flows around 70 kilometres north to the town of Polcenigo.
Several of Caorle's beaches were awarded the Blue Flag (Bandiera Blu) in 2019. The Blue Flag is a mark of excellence given to beaches and marinas that meet certain, strict criteria based around the quality of water, safety, facilities and the environment. The beaches included in the list in and around Caorle were Brussa, Duna Verde, Levante, Ponente and Porto Santa Margherita.
