Isola Madre, also known as Mother Island, is one of the Borromean Islands located on Lake Maggiore in northern Italy. It is the largest and most famous of the three islands and is known for its exquisite botanical gardens, historic palazzo, and lush greenery.
History
​Isola Madre has a fascinating history that dates back to the 16th century when the Borromeo family acquired the island. The Borromeo family, a prominent Italian noble family, transformed the island into a luxurious retreat and began the construction of the grand Palazzo Borromeo.
