The main sight in San Giovanni Bianco is the beautiful stone bridge that spans the River Brembo. There are several more bridges linking up the east and west banks of the town but the Ponte Vecchio (old bridge) is the one that really gives the town its character, while a small waterfall slightly downriver adds a little extra lustre. Crossing the pedestrianised bridge from the east to west bank of the river, the eye is drawn to the beautiful Chiesa di San Giovanni and its impressive clock tower which looms large over the town and gives it a real presence.
Follow the river south for four kilometres and you reach the larger and better-known San Pellegrino Terme; famous not only for its thermal baths but for its bottled water which is currently one of the world's most successful brands. Head the same distance north of San Giovanni Bianco and you come to the village of Cornello dei Tasso, one of the Borghi Più Belli d'Italia, (Italy's most beautiful villages).
