Ponza is located in the Tyrrhenian Sea, 33 kilometres south of San Felice Circeo on the Italian mainland. It therefore requires a ferry or hydrofoil from one of the mainland ports or from one of the nearby islands such as Ischia or Ventotene.

The ferry and hydrofoil options can be quite complicated so if you're planning a trip to Ponza in the near future, it's worth spending a little bit of time researching the best way to get here.

Once you're here, you can hire buggies, scooters or cars but there is also a system of Buses in Ponza for which I've provided timetables, journey times, ticket purchasing locations and other useful information.
