Torre dei Lamberti
Latest update: 26 February 2022
The Torre dei Lamberti is a medieval tower in the centre of Verona and one of the best places from which to take in the city's sights.
Reaching a height of 84 metres, construction originally started in 1172 but didn't finish until much later, in 1463 after a bell tower was added in 1259, a collapse in 1403 and a reconstruction phase that started in 1448. A clock was later added in 1798. |
There are two ways to reach the viewing area at the top of the tower: either by stairs or an internal elevator. Access to the tower complex is via an entrance on Piazza dei Signori, close to Piazza delle Erbe.
