Ostia Antica
The archaeological site of Ostia Antica is situated within the Metropolitan City of Rome province, around 25 kilometres south west of Rome city centre. The site was once the important harbour city of Ancient Rome but is now several kilometres inland.
Ostia Antica is one of the best-preserved archaeological sites of its kind in Italy, its streets and buildings resembling those of Pompeii. |
