There are numerous ways to get to the island of Ponza, but being an island it almost always involves some kind of boat. Located in the Gulf of Gaeta, Ponza forms part of the group of islands know as the Pontine Islands, along with its neighbours - Zannone, Palmarola, Gavi and the slightly further away Ventotene.
Ponza is serviced by a range of ferry and hydrofoil routes that connect it to the Italian mainland ports of Naples Mergellina, Terracina, San Felice Circeo, Anzio and Formia. There are also sailings from other islands in the Tyrrhenian sea: the islands of Ischia and Ventotene. |

The crossings between Ponza and the mainland are provided by Laziomar and Navigazione Libera del Golfo (NLG), while a third company, SNAV, provides sailings from Naples, stopping at Ischia (Casamicciola Port), then Ventotene before arriving in Ponza Port.
