​Centrepiece of the archipelago that bears its name is La Maddalena Island. It's situated just a 15 minute ferry ride from the port town of Palau, on Sardinia's north-eastern coast.

By far the most populous of the La Maddalena Archipelago, this central island has a population of just over 11,000 residents and comes under the auspices of the Province of Sassari.

La Maddalena is a stunning island located in the north-eastern part of Sardinia, Italy. The island is part of the La Maddalena Archipelago, which consists of several smaller islands and is renowned for its exceptional beauty and pristine landscapes.

History
Historically, La Maddalena served as a strategic military outpost due to its strategic location in the Mediterranean Sea.
