Matterhorn

Soaring to a maximum elevation of 4.478 metres above sea level, the Matterhorn is one of the highest peaks in the Alps.
It's situated a distance of around 55 kilometres north-east of Aosta, the regional capital of Valle d'Aosta, and can be seen clearly from the Breuil-Cervinia ski resort just below. The Italian name of the mountain is Monte Cervino, while places of interest nearby include Lake Maen and the towns of Saint-Vincent and Chatillon. The recommended accommodation is the Hotel Meublé Gorret in Breuil-Cervinia. |
