The Torrazzo of Cremona is a 112 metre-high bell tower in the city of Cremona in Lombardy. The tallest brickwork campanile in Italy, it was completed in 1309 and stands next to Cremona Cathedral. 

Along with the Cremona Baptistery and the historic Palazzo del Comune that stands opposite the Cathedral, this collection of medieval monuments on Piazza del Comune is quite extraordinary.

History
Construction of the Torrazzo began in the late 13th century, around 1230, and was completed in 1309. The tower was part of the original structure of the Palazzo Comunale, the historic city hall of Cremona. The Torrazzo served multiple functions over the centuries, including as a bell tower, a clock tower, and a watchtower for defensive purposes.

The name "Torrazzo" is derived from the Italian word "torre," meaning tower. The tower's impressive height and architectural significance have made it an iconic landmark of Cremona.
