The Buses in Ponza provide a cheap way of getting around the island and away from the busiest months of the year they're not too crowded.
There's just one line that starts at Ponza Port and finishes towards the north of the island at Punta Incenso, a total journey time of half an hour. The same bus comes back in the same direction so there are no bus route numbers to think about as such. One subtlety however, is that on the way back from Punta Incenso to Ponza Port, the bus doesn't stop at Cala Feola Beach or the Piscine Naturali. |

Buying Ponza bus tickets
The price of a single ticket is €1.50 (for non-residents) and the tickets can be bought from numerous locations around the island such as supermarkets, newspaper stands, bars and shops. Further down the page I've provided a full list of locations that sell the tickets.
It always makes most sense to buy two tickets at a time, so that you don't have to worry about finding somewhere to buy one for the return trip. Buying tickets on-board the buses is discouraged, particularly during high season when there's high demand and a greater number of passengers boarding at the same time.

Timetables
Buses leave from the port at 04:00, 06:30 and 08:00 then every half an hour from 09:00 to 11:00. From 12:00 to the last departure at 22:00 they run once an hour.
The return journeys from Punta Incenso leave at 04:30, 07:00 and 08:30 then every half an hour from 09:00 to 11:00. From 12:30 to the last departure at 22:30 they run once an hour.
