The spa town of San Pellegrino Terme has shot to international prominence in recent years through the remarkable success of its bottled water. It's situated within the Province of Bergamo in the northern Italian region of Lombardy.
With their iconic labels, the bottles can be found in bars and restaurants the world over, making it perhaps the "trendiest" water on the market. |
Aside from the drinking water production, the town is famous for its thermal spas and some of the Art Nouveau/Liberty style buildings they're housed within are worth a visit in their own right.
The town is located on the River Bremba, along a valley known as the Val Brembana. A little further north up the valley is another pretty town which is worth a visit, San Giovanni Bianco and from there, you can take a spectacular mountain drive through the Parco delle Orobie Bergamasche.
