​The Castello di Govone is a castle situated in the town of Govone in the Province of Cuneo in the region of Piedmont. 

Built in 1778, the castle has been inscribed by UNESCO as one of their World Heritage Sites since 1997 under the Residences of the Royal House of Savoy heading. Places of interest nearby include Asti, Costigliole d'Asti, Alba and Nizza Monferrato.

Castello di Govone, also known as Govone Castle, is a charming historic residence located in the town of Govone, in the Langhe region of Piedmont, Italy. This elegant castle is famous for its picturesque setting, exquisite architecture, and its connection to the House of Savoy, the former royal family of Italy.
History
The history of Castello di Govone dates back to the 11th century when it was originally built as a defensive fortress. Over the centuries, it underwent several renovations and expansions, transforming it into a luxurious residence for the noble families of Piedmont.

In the 18th century, under the direction of renowned architect Benedetto Alfieri, the castle was remodeled into a splendid Baroque and neoclassical palace. It was further adorned with beautiful gardens and decorations under the patronage of Queen Maria Theresa of Austria.

Castello di Govone became one of the favorite summer residences of the House of Savoy. Today, it remains a testament to the region's historical and architectural legacy.
