The Roman Forum is situated in the centre of Rome between the Colosseum and the Capitoline Hill. The Forum Romanum as it was known, served a number of purposes but was essentially a public space that could be used for a variety of activities.
At the same time as being a marketplace, it was also the venue for elections, public announcements and entertainments. |
