​The town of Sant'Angelo Le Fratte is situated within the Province of Potenza and has a population of 1,376 inhabitants.

Standing at an elevation of 560 metres above sea level, it covers a total area of 23 km². The closest hotel is 15 km away while nearby places of interest include Satriano di Lucania, Brienza, Pignola and Marsico Nuovo.
Sant'Angelo Le Fratte is one of the most fascinating towns in Basilicata with its incredible display of murals. Almost every building in the town is covered in beautiful artwork that represents an open-air gallery. 

There are a handful of such towns in Italy and curiously enough that includes the nearby town of Satriano di Lucania which can rival Sant'Angelo Le Fratte with its own murals.
