The Caorle Cathedral Bell Tower was originally built in 1038 and rises to a height of 48 metres. Caorle itself is a colourful seaside town in the region of Veneto and the Campanile is its iconic image.
The unusual, free-standing circular structure which leans slightly to the east, has an internal stairwell of 80 steps which can be climbed to get some of the best views of the sea and nearby lagoon. |
This bell tower is located just in front of Caorle Cathedral, a few steps from the seafront while another, smaller and rectangular tower is situated towards the end of the beach, next to the Chiesa della Madonna dell'Angelo.
