The Castello Moncalieri is a castle situated on the outskirts of Turin, the regional capital of Piedmont. 

Built in the 15th century, the castle has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997 under the Residences of the Royal House of Savoy heading. Places of interest nearby include the Palazzina di Stupinigi, and the Reggia di Venaria Reale.

​Castello Moncalieri, also known as Moncalieri Castle, is a historic fortress located in Moncalieri, a town in the Piedmont region of northern Italy. This impressive castle stands as a symbol of Piedmont's rich history and architectural heritage, showcasing a mix of medieval and Renaissance styles.
History
The origins of Castello Moncalieri date back to the 12th century when it was built as a defensive stronghold for the city of Turin by the Marquis of Montferrat. Over the centuries, the castle underwent various renovations and expansions under different rulers, including the House of Savoy, who played a significant role in shaping the history of Piedmont.

During the 17th century, the castle was transformed into a stately residence under the direction of the famous architect Guarino Guarini, who added Baroque elements to its design. Castello Moncalieri continued to serve as a royal residence for the House of Savoy until the 19th century.
