The 13th century Castello Scaligero in Sirmione is one of the most iconic sights around Lake Garda. It takes its name from the Della Scala family that ruled much of the local territory during the period of the fortress' construction.
The castle stands guard at the entry point of the beautiful lakeside town of Sirmione at the southern end of Lake Garda in Lombardy. |
