Castello Svevo (Barletta)

The Castello Svevo in Barletta was originally built in the 11th century by the Swabian dynasty, also known as the Hohenstaufens.
One of the finest castles of its kind and completely intact, it's surrounded on all four sides by a dry moat. It dominates the landscape of the seaside town of Barletta in the region of Puglia while its interior nowadays houses a civic museum: Museo Civico. |
