The lakeside town of Dongo is situated in the Province of Como, on the shores of Lake Como. It has a population of around 3,000 residents and is located a distance of 97 kilometres north of Milan, the regional capital of Lombardy

Dongo is a picturesque town located in the Lombardy region of northern Italy, situated on the northwestern shores of Lake Como. Known for its beautiful lakefront, historical significance, and natural beauty, Dongo is an attractive destination for tourists seeking a blend of history, culture, and scenic landscapes.
History
Dongo has a rich historical background that dates back to ancient times. It was once inhabited by Celtic tribes before coming under Roman rule. Over the centuries, the town has been influenced by various ruling families and noble houses, contributing to its cultural heritage and historical significance.

One of the most notable events in Dongo's history is its association with the last days of Benito Mussolini's regime. In April 1945, Mussolini and some of his followers were captured by partisans in Dongo, marking the end of Fascist rule in Italy.
