Lake Sirio, also known as Lago di Sirio, is a charming and picturesque lake located in the Piedmont region of northern Italy. It is situated near the town of Ivrea and is surrounded by lush greenery and gentle hills, making it a popular destination for both locals and tourists seeking tranquility and natural beauty.
History
​Lake Sirio has a fascinating history that dates back to ancient times. According to legends, the lake was formed from the tears of a young shepherdess named Sirio, who fell in love with a nobleman.

When their love was forbidden, Sirio cried so much that her tears formed the lake. Though this is a romantic legend, the origins of the lake are, in fact, glacial. It was formed during the last Ice Age as a result of glacial activity in the region.
