The lakeside town of Malgrate is situated in the Province of Lecco, on the shores of Lake Como. It has a population of around 4,000 residents and is located a distance of 56 kilometres north east of Milan, the regional capital of Lombardy.

Malgrate has a Lake Como ferry port, while nearby places of interest include Lecco, Valmadrera and Abbadia Lariana.
