​The vineyard town of Nizza Monferrato is situated within the Province of Asti. It stands at an elevation of 137 metres above sea level with a population of around 10,000 inhabitants.

Part of the Monferrato wine region, its nearby places of interest include Canelli, Acqui Terme, Costigliole d'Asti and Barbaresco, while the recommended accommodation is the Hotel Doc.

Nizza Monferrato is a charming town situated in the Piedmont region of northern Italy, in the heart of the Monferrato wine-producing area. The town's history dates back to ancient times, with evidence of Roman settlements in the region. Over the centuries, Nizza Monferrato came under the rule of various noble families, including the Gonzagas and the Savoys.
History
During the medieval period, the town prospered as a trading center due to its strategic location along important trade routes. It also became known for its winemaking heritage, which continues to this day.

Today, Nizza Monferrato is celebrated for its excellent wines, particularly Barbera d'Asti, made from the Barbera grape, which thrives in the fertile vineyards of the Monferrato region.
