Parks of Lazio
Latest update: 20 February 2022
The major parks of Lazio include two of Italy's 25 national parks, as well as a handful of smaller, regional parks and valley areas.
By far the largest park is one that covers three different Italian regions and consequently called the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park. Established in 1992, it covers almost 500 km² of the Apennines which run all along the spine of Italy. The park is famous for its brown bears, wolves and spectacular scenery. The Circeo National Park is much smaller in dimension and along with the Decima Malafede Regional Park is located by the sea. |
