The town of Soriano nel Cimino lies in the historical area of Tuscia, the Roman name for Etruria, the former land of the Etruscans. 

Soriano nel Cimino is situated within the Province of Viterbo and stands at an elevation of 509 metres above sea level. The town has a population of around 8,000 inhabitants while places of interest nearby include Vallerano, Vignanello and Canepina.
