Torre dell’Orso is a seaside resort on the Adriatic coast of the Salento Peninsula, in the province of Lecce. Set within a wide bay framed by limestone cliffs and pine groves, it is known for its fine white sand and clear turquoise waters. The beach extends for nearly a kilometre, backed by dunes and Mediterranean vegetation, while the surrounding coastline features sea caves and striking rock formations that define this part of Apulia’s eastern shore.
The resort takes its name from the 16th-century watchtower that still overlooks the bay, part of the coastal defence system built to protect against pirate raids. Offshore, the twin sea stacks known as the Due Sorelle are among the most photographed natural landmarks in Salento.
