The Volterra Baptistery or Battistero di San Giovanni is one of the panoply of historic sights in the hill town of Volterra in Tuscany.
Situated directly opposite Volterra Cathedral, the octagonal exterior of the Baptistery is noticeably decorated with green and white stripes on just one side. Another distinctive feature of the Baptistery is its dome which is part of the iconic image of Volterra. |
