​The Baron Gamba Castle is situated a distance of 24 kilometres east of Aosta, the regional capital of Valle d'Aosta. The castle was built in 1911 and is open to the public for visits.

Baron Gamba Castle, also known as Castello Gamba, is a historic castle located in the Aosta Valley region of northern Italy. Situated in the village of Bard, the castle is perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Dora Baltea river.
History
Baron Gamba Castle dates back to the 15th century and was originally built as a defensive fortress to protect the strategic Bard area. It was part of a network of fortifications in the region that played a crucial role in controlling access to the Aosta Valley.

Over the centuries, the castle changed hands and underwent various modifications and expansions. In the 19th century, the castle was acquired by Baron Gamba, who renovated and restored it, giving it its current name. Today, the castle is a well-preserved historical monument and a testament to the region's medieval heritage.
