History
Bonassola has ancient origins, dating back to Roman times when it was a settlement known as Bona. Throughout history, the village was part of the territories controlled by various ruling powers, including the Republic of Genoa. Bonassola was once an important fishing and agricultural village, with olive groves and vineyards dotting the surrounding landscape.
