​The seaside town of Bordighera is situated on the Riviera di Ponente in the Province of Imperia. It has a population of around 10,000 inhabitants with the main highlights being the promenade, the beach and the upper town known as Bordighera Alta.

​Nearby places of interest include the towns of Ospedaletti, Ventimiglia and Hanbury Botanical Gardens.

 Bordighera is a picturesque coastal town located in the Liguria region of northern Italy. Situated along the Italian Riviera, Bordighera is known for its beautiful beaches, lush gardens, and historical significance. 
History
Bordighera has a rich and ancient history, dating back to Roman times when it was a strategic outpost along the Via Julia Augusta, an important Roman road. Throughout history, the town was influenced by various ruling powers, including the Republic of Genoa and the Kingdom of Sardinia.

Bordighera's history is also marked by its popularity among European aristocrats and artists during the 19th and 20th centuries. It became a favorite destination for wintering, attracting famous figures like Claude Monet and Queen Victoria. Today, Bordighera retains much of its historical charm, with elegant villas, beautiful gardens, and a relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere.
