The village of Castellaro Lagusello is a frazione of the Monzambano Comune in Mantua Province. It's situated ten kilometres south of Lake Garda in the region of Lombardy.
Included in the list of Borghi Più Belli d'Italia (most beautiful villages in Italy), the main attractions are the medieval streets, a heart-shaped lake and the Castello di Castellaro Lagusello fortress. |
It stands at an elevation of 115 metres above sea level and is just six kilometres to the west of the regional border with Veneto which lies across the River Mincio. On the Veneto side of the river is the picturesque village called Borghetto which is also home to the beautiful Parco Giardino Sigurtà.

Castellaro Lagusello doesn't have its own train station: the nearest one is Peschiera del Garda which is eleven kilometres to the north and reachable by car in around 15 minutes. Recommended accommodation is the Hotel Marconi in Sirmione on Lake Garda.
