The castle of Castello Savoia is situated a distance of 80 kilometres east of Aosta, the regional capital of Valle d'Aosta. The castle was built between 1899 and 1904.

Château Savoie is a historic castle located in Gressoney Saint Jean, a picturesque village in the Valle d'Aosta region of Italy. Situated amidst the stunning Alpine landscapes, Château Savoie is an iconic architectural landmark and a symbol of the region's rich history and cultural heritage.
History
The castle, also known as Castel Savoia, was originally built in the late 19th century as a private residence for Queen Margherita of Savoy, who was the first queen of Italy and the wife of King Umberto I. Queen Margherita was enchanted by the beauty of the Aosta Valley and chose Gressoney Saint Jean as the location to build her mountain retreat.

The castle was designed in a neo-Gothic style by architect Emilio Rey and was completed in 1896. It served as the queen's summer residence, providing her with a place to escape from the heat of the city and enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the Alps.
