The village of Gressoney-Saint-Jean is situated a distance of 78 kilometres east of Aosta, the regional capital of Valle d'Aosta. 

It stands at an elevation of 1,385 metres above sea level and has a population of around 800 residents. Nearby places of interest include Castello Savoia, Gaby, Issime, Fontainemore and Lilianes. The recommended accommodation is the Hotel Gran Baita.
