​The hill town of Forza d'Agrò is situated within​ the Metropolitan City of Messina province, a distance of 270 kilometres east of Palermo, the regional capital of Sicily. 

Standing at an elevation of 420 metres above sea level it has a population of around 900 residents. Nearby places of interest include Sant'Alessio Siculo, Letojanni, Taormina and Savoca.
Forza d'Agrò was used as one of the filming locations for a number of scenes in The Godfather films. The Chiesa della Santissima Annunziata features in both The Godfather Part 2 (1974) and The Godfather Part 3 (1990). A creek close to the town is also used in Part 2 to show the funeral procession while nearby village of Savoca hosts a number of other scenes.
