How to Get to Gela
By Rail: Gela has its own train station on the line connecting Syracuse to Licata and Caltanissetta, served by Trenitalia. Direct regional trains run to Ragusa in about 2 hours and to Caltanissetta in approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. The station is located near the centre of town and is within walking distance of the beach and key amenities.

By Road: Gela is located on the southern coast of Sicily, approximately 85 kilometres west of Ragusa and 80 kilometres south of Caltanissetta. From Ragusa, the drive takes around 1 hour and 30 minutes via the SS115 and SS117bis roads. From Caltanissetta, the journey is just over 1 hour via the SS626. Public parking is available near the seafront and throughout the town.

  • Comiso Airport: The closest airport, located about 65 kilometres from Gela. The drive takes around 1 hour and 10 minutes, making it the most convenient option for regional flights.
  • Catania Fontanarossa Airport: Approximately 110 kilometres northeast of Gela, with a driving time of about 1 hour and 40 minutes via the A19 and SS417. It offers a wide range of domestic and international connections.
  • Palermo Falcone Borsellino Airport: Located roughly 190 kilometres away. The drive to Gela takes around 2 hours and 30 minutes via the A19 motorway and inland roads.
