By Rail: Grado does not have its own train station. The nearest station is in Cervignano-Aquileia-Grado, approximately 20 kilometres away, on the Venice–Trieste railway line. Trenitalia regional trains run regularly between Venice, Trieste, and Udine. Journey times are about 1 hour and 20 minutes from Venice and 40 minutes from Trieste. From the station, Grado can be reached by local bus or taxi in around 25 minutes.

By Road: Grado is situated on a lagoon island along the Adriatic coast in Friuli Venezia Giulia, connected to the mainland by a causeway. It is accessible via the SS352 and SR352 roads, with the nearest motorway junction at Palmanova on the A4, around 30 kilometres away. The drive from Trieste takes approximately 50 minutes, and from Venice about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Public parking is available near the beach, marina, and historic centre.

By Rail: Grado does not have a railway station. The nearest station is in Cervignano del Friuli, about 20 kilometres away, on the Venice–Trieste line. From Cervignano, regional trains connect to Trieste in around 45 minutes and to Venice in approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. From the station, buses and taxis provide onward travel to Grado.

By Road: The town is located on a lagoon peninsula south of Aquileia. From Cervignano del Friuli, the drive is about 20 kilometres and takes around 25 minutes. From Trieste, the journey is approximately 55 kilometres, taking about 50 minutes by car, while from Venice it is around 130 kilometres, with a driving time of 1 hour and 30 minutes via the A4 motorway. Parking is available at various points near the centre and seafront.
