The Grinzane Cavour Castle is situated in the Province of Cuneo, close to the town of Grinzane Cavour.

Built in the 13th century, the castle has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2014 under the heading Vineyard Landscape of Piedmont: Langhe-Roero and Monferrato. Places of interest nearby include La Morra, Barolo, Barbaresco and Alba.

Grinzane Cavour Castle, also known as Castello di Grinzane Cavour, is a historic castle located in the Piedmont region of Italy, near the town of Alba. Perched on a hilltop, the castle offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding vineyards and the Langhe region.

It is not only a beautiful example of medieval architecture but also holds significant historical importance as it is closely associated with the renowned Italian statesman, Count Camillo Benso di Cavour.
History
Grinzane Cavour Castle was originally built as a military fortress in the 13th century. Over the centuries, it underwent several expansions and renovations, transforming from a defensive structure into a noble residence. The castle played a crucial role in the medieval conflicts between the cities of Alba and Asti.

In the 19th century, the castle came under the ownership of the prominent statesman, Count Camillo Benso di Cavour. Cavour was a key figure in the unification of Italy, and he used the castle as a residence during his stays in the Langhe region. The castle's association with Cavour has made it a symbol of Italian unity and patriotism
