History
The most prominent landmark in Grinzane Cavour is the Grinzane Cavour Castle, which dates back to the 11th century. The castle played a significant role in the history of the region and was once owned by the powerful Savoy-Carignano family. It was later acquired by Camillo Benso, Count of Cavour, a prominent statesman and politician who played a crucial role in the unification of Italy in the 19th century. Cavour's connection to the castle is what gave it the name "Grinzane Cavour."
